Music
Our intent:
At South End, we believe music education should be based on the principle that it should be fun and engaging for all concerned. Every child is a born musician, and music plays a role in every aspect of our lives – wherever and whoever we are. Our music curriculum follows the Charanga music school scheme.

Our way:
Our lessons include listening, singing, playing instruments, evaluating, analysing and composing across a wide variety of musical genres. Our vision is for all children to develop a curiosity for the subject, as well as an understanding and acceptance of the importance of all types of music. We are committed to ensuring children understand the value of music in the wider community. This is achieved by all children being involved in performances, weekly singing sessions and music sessions. We also have a whole school choir who regularly perform at local events.
